About the Role

We're looking for an Account Director to join us on a 9-12 month fixed term contract.

Your role as Account Director will see you lead all operational aspects for your clients and will support across a range of projects, spanning brand through to digital, all connecting back to solving business challenges. This role will see you get to know your clients' business inside out and be seen as a trusted advisor.

We are looking for someone who can partner closely with our strategic and creative leads and collaborate on how to solve briefs and business challenges. We are looking for someone ambitious to get stuck in and help us continue to unlock opportunities for growth for with clients.

You will also be responsible for helping to manage and mentor other team members, and lifting the team around them, supporting through workloads, representing the account back to the agency, and championing the great work that is being built.

This role must be based in Melbourne.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build an open, honest, and trusting relationship with the client, the account management team, the creative department, and all other agency partners.
  • Manage the Client's expectations by ensuring they are always kept in the loop in terms of work in progress, recognising issues early and pre-empting them.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the organizational structure, culture, and politics of the clients' business.
  • Show ability to debate and negotiate constructively with clients in to successfully advocate for the Agency's recommendations or point of view.
  • Make major strategic and creative presentations to the Client demonstrating effective influence/persuasion skills through proven success at selling creative ideas.
  • Able to lead a mixed discipline agency team in developing and delivering the highest standard creative.
  • Work alongside a village team with like-minded colleagues, ensuring that teamwork and collaboration is front and centre of that process.
  • Support a wider team and champion their development, ensuring they are getting regular access, support and setting the best example.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Be a great listener, then able to move proactively and quickly.
  • Experience leading clients, not just reacting to briefs, anticipating their needs, and finding solutions.
  • Have developed first-class creative solutions and campaigns, preferably with digital credentials.
  • Strong strategic experience i.e., writing briefs, responding to queries, and engaging with confidence during high-level client conversations.
  • Seen as a Client's business partner: proven track record of managing and developing client relationships at the most senior level.
  • Ability to build strong agency inter-departmental relationships.
  • Experience with some team management, at AM or AE level
  • Sound financial management skills.
  • Demonstrate resilience, confidence, and tenacity.
  • Previous experience with an advertising/creative or integrated agency is preferred.
