And now, we are looking for Painted Dog Melbourne’s first Account Director to join our team! 

About the role

As an essential member of our team, you will be responsible for managing key client accounts, nurturing existing relationships, and driving growth opportunities. You’ll have the demonstrated leadership, business smarts, technical skills, and a genuine passion for client success. 

You’ll lead strategic account management efforts, working closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver solutions. Imagine yourself as the key point of contact for our clients, guiding them through the ins and outs of our services and offerings. You'll nurture existing relationships, identify areas for growth, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure we're delivering value at every turn. Your role isn't just about managing accounts – it's about being a trusted advisor and strategic partner. That means you have the know-how, the research skills, varied industry experience and will have worked across methodologies. And with your strong communication skills and knack for storytelling, you'll effectively convey insights and recommendations to clients, empowering them to make informed decisions. 

This role offers the opportunity to make a huge impact within a dynamic culture and contribute to the growth of a challenger brand. We operate a hybrid working environment, splitting our time between our vibrant office and WFH (up to 2 days per week).

Key responsibilities

  • Lead key accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying growth opportunities.
  • Demonstrate commercial acumen, leveraging insights to drive value-added solutions.
  • Manage projects independently from inception to delivery, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Manage both quantitative and qualitative projects.
  • Deliver compelling outputs and deliverables, utilising strong storytelling skills.
  • Analyse data and provide actionable insights, demonstrating quantitative proficiency.
  • Problem-solve effectively and contribute to a challenger brands growth.
  • Take a proactive approach to client and project management, exceeding expectations.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering their professional development.

Qualifications / experience 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in market or consumer research.
  • Proven track record in account management and client relationship building. 
  • Versatile expertise in research methodologies across industries.
  • A strong understanding of quantitative research.
  • Strong proficiency in project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
