Established in 1980, Barwon Timber is an independent family owned building product and service business based in the Geelong region. We supply quality building materials and services to residential, commercial and owner builders in Geelong, the Surf Coast and South West region of Victoria. Over the years our business has grown to include an extensive range of building products and services. Our group of businesses include Bar-Truss and Drysdale Timber and Hardware.

What you will do:
We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our team. You will be responsible for creating and building client relationships and providing a high level of customer service for our group of businesses. The primary duties of the role include:
- Business Development
- Identify and seek new customers and bring them to the business.
- Identify and seek new markets and form strategies to attract these to the businesses.
- Sales
- Make regular onsite visits to customers. Service customer’s needs and requirements.
- Follow product and market trends and feed back into the business
- Contribution towards marketing activities
- Attending marketing, training and customer events
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a proven track record in sales and relationship building
- The ability to work to and achieve sales targets
- Competent in time management & delegating tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills, phone manner and presentation skills
The ideal candidate:
- Previous experience as an Account Manager or Sales Representative in the construction industry
- Formal sales training and a demonstrated track record of growing sales
- Autonomy and the ability to work independently and be self motivated
- A background in timber, hardware and building products (desirable)
- Availability to attend occasional events on evenings and weekends as required (with notice provided)
- A passion to support and deliver an absolutely high level of customer service
- Natural organisational skills
- Natural team player attributes
- A go getter attitude, who thrives on working in a busy environment!
