About the role:
The Accountant will provide timely and accurate financial results by taking ownership for key areas including bank reconciliations, shop sales, RL village and capital accounts, prepayments, inventory accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute the timely and accurate posting and reconciliation of Anglicare op-shop sales on a weekly basis.
- Ensure monthly reconciliation of all cash floats, providing guidance and support to site staff as the primary point of contact.
- Take ownership of bank uploads, account transfers, and management of EFTPOS terminals, ensuring seamless transactions.
- Proactively handle the cancellation of cheques as needed, maintaining compliance with banking protocols.
- Identify, allocate, and manage prepayments across relevant periods and departments, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Facilitate the submission of unclaimed monies to the OSR, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly and effectively to inquiries from finance and organizational staff, demonstrating a commitment to service excellence.
- Manage stock and inventory, including uniforms, with diligence and accuracy.
- Contribute to the completeness and accuracy of accruals across the organization through meticulous analysis and collaboration with relevant departments.
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional Certification (e.g., CPA) or studying towards CPA with a demonstrated commitment to excellence and comprehensive understanding of accounting standards.
- 5+ Years of proven experience in financial transaction management, banking operations, and reporting.
- Highly organised, structured, and have an acute attention to detail
- Intermediate Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and organizational Skills
