We have an opportunity for an Accountant seeking a challenging and varied role with growth opportunities to join our finance team. This role reports to the Financial Controller and will service both our metal manufacturing and building groups, based in Brendale (head office) with time spent at Eagle Farm.

Key responsibilities will include:
• Manage day-to-day finance operations for two divisions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and cashflow, monthly closing and reconciliations.
• Generate and provide key reports to project managers and the management team.
• Handle monthly project invoicing.
• Assist with insurances, including renewals and claims.
• Assume primary responsibility for compliance matters, including superannuation, payroll tax lodgements, workers' compensation lodgements and preparation of the taxable payments annual report for the ATO.
• Collaborate with the Financial Controller to prepare accurate financial statements and reports.
• Work with team members who undertake Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll.
• Issue claims, invoices, and manage collections and credit control.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and industry standards.
• Directly involved in month-end processes and monthly project invoicing.
• Manage asset management tasks, including organisation leases and loans.
About You
You’re an experienced financial professional adept in various financial tasks including report preparation, financial statements, tax lodgments, providing support to teams.
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate:
• Hold a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of project accounting, with exposure to project costings.
• Proven track record in a similar role with a minimum of 6 years of experience.
• Ideally, you have prior experience within the construction industry, preferably working with a builder or contractor.
• Prior experience managing finance staff, encompassing Accounts Payable and Payroll functions.
• Proficiency in Xero and ERP systems is preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in general computer skills and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Thorough understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with strong technical capabilities in financial and management accounting.
Advantageous:
• Exposure to project costings is seen as highly advantageous.
