The Role
This role supports the finance team in ensuring the financial records of the school are maintained in a timely and accurate manner. The roles is responsible for daily bank reconciliations, banking, and credit card management and other accounting tasks. Haileybury is an equal opportunity employer. Responsibilities include
- Ensure daily bank reconciliations are prepared
- Ensure any monies received including applications fees, tuition fee payments and fundraising monies are receipted
- Process donations received by the Haileybury Foundation, as well as preparing receipts for the donors
- Assist the parent and friends groups with their finance needs
- Monitor the Finance inbox and respond to queries
- Preparation of monthly accounts
- Preparation of month end journals and reconciliations
- Review creditor batches for payment
- Maintenance of creditor supplier master data in the creditor’s ledger
- Preparing and reviewing credit card acquittals and uploading into the accounting system
- Maintenance and reconciliation of petty cash
- Other duties as requested to support the finance team and school needs.
To be successful in the role you will bring the following with you:
- CPA/CA or working towards
- Tertiary degree in Commerce or related field
- Intermediate/advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- 2+ years accounting experience (desirable)
- High attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines
