Responsibilities:
- Set up new SMSFs and manage modifications/closures of existing ones.
- Offer specialized Accounting, Superannuation, and Taxation advice as needed.
- Prepare Member Benefit Statements and end-of-year financial accounts with precision.
- Liaise with clients as necessary, reviewing income and expenditure positions.
- Submit the Fund’s tax return to the Australian Taxation Office, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
- Conduct audits of various SMS funds when required.
- Supervise the day-to-day activities of junior accountants to optimize productivity.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager and team leader on regulatory changes, client issues, or new initiatives/projects.
- Maintain an updated knowledge base through continuous professional development.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an accounting role.
- Experience with relevant accounting industry software.
- Strong ability to manage staff.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and present high-quality accounting reports.
- Team player, committed to excellence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong organisations skills, capable of handling client files and documents.
