Job Description:
Star Group is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Manager to join our team. The Compliance Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring our organization's operations and business transactions follow all relevant legal, internal, and external rules and regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement an effective legal compliance program
2. Create sound internal controls and monitor adherence to them
3. Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations
4. Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk
5. Evaluate business activities (e.g. investments) to assess compliance risk
6. Collaborate with external auditors and HR departments
7. Review and evaluate company procedures and reports to identify hidden risks or common issues
8. Draft, modify and implement company policies
9. Ensure all employees are educated on the latest regulations and processes
10. Address employee concerns or questions on legal compliance
Required Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in Law, Business Administration, or related field
2. Proven experience as a Compliance Manager or Compliance Officer
3. Extensive knowledge of industry laws and regulations
4. Proficient in MS Office (specifically Excel) and data analysis
5. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
6. Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
7. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and protect the company's reputation
8. Critical thinking skills and the ability to research and understand legal and financial implications
9. Exceptional project management and organisational skills
