Accountant

Cosmo Food Service is a food wholesale business and very well established in Australia with multiple branches throughout.
The Role
As part of their commitment to growing their brand in the Australian market they are now looking for an Accountant to join their team. This is a full time role with an annual salary of $70,000 plus superannuation.
Your duties will include
Involved in implementing accounting and internal control system for continuous improvement in reporting,
Maintaining and reconciling books of accounts including general ledger accounts, Profit & Loss and balance sheet.
Preparing BAS and PYAG statements, reconcile the GST and PAYG withholding account and lodge monthly BAS with ATO,
Assisting with annual audit preparations, investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
Assisting in managing of Inventory control and periodic Stocks take in accordance with the internal control system and reporting findings of the same.
Preparing regular reports on areas of efficiency increase, cost reduction, profit leakages, high risk and processes through evaluating efficacy of Internal control processes.
Preparation of Monthly Profitability & Analytical Statements.
Assisting payroll for employees including PAYG, tax, workers compensation, and superannuation
Assisting with the administration of all superannuation record keeping and compliance
Assist in the maintain the accurate employee details on payroll system and manage the journal exchange between payroll system and central ERP system
Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
Monitor ERP system transaction flow and provide advice for system improvement.
Assist in customizing ERP system to meet the business requirement.
Monthly review and upload credit card transactions, and reconcile the accounts
Provide other various management report and internal financial analysis if required
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in similar FMCG industry
Must have 2 years' intermediate knowledge and experience with company income tax and GST
Must have experience using Microsoft Office suite, XERO, MYOB and Sage software
Demonstrated commercial acumen to understand the dynamics of a complex evolving industry
Working knowledge of tax laws and Accounting Standards
