Qualifications & experience
- Formal accounting qualifications - CA, CPA
- Track record in application of sound financial management and accounting concepts, processes, systems and analyses. •Demonstrated experience in costing and budgeting. •Demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior management.
- Experience in communicating financial information and advice to staff. Demonstrated ability to operationalise legislative, statutory and contractual obligations. Track record in successfully meeting deadlines and working autonomously.
- Identification of and control of financial risk Experience in successfully implementing significant changes to processes and systems. Demonstrated ability to effectively lead, engage and contribute to a team
- Working with NDIS systems, business rules and processes, ensuring compliance with all requirements of a NDIS registered provider.
- Understanding of PACE – new NDIS System Experience/Knowledge in Supported Independent Living working with Rosters of care and participant support arrangement creation to assist Senior Coordinators with quality supports and funding management
- Understanding/Knowledge of STP 2, Payroll, Enterprise agreements Experience/Knowledge of various grant acquittal/reporting requirements. (DSOA grant, JFM grant for our HomePlace Listens project and other grants
- Experience in building relationships between CRM systems (Bridging gaps, maintaining and improving accuracy) Government portals – eg; apprenticeship programs, applying for wage/subsidies/fulling reporting requirements
- Managing portals as an authorised person such as ATO, ACNC, RAM, ABR. Proda Business Hub
- Demonstrated track record in unit roster services predictive costing and analysis of actual performance against predicted. Track record demonstrating advanced levels in Excel and coaching of others to a similar level
Tasks & responsibilities
- Completion of financial activities including preparing monthly financial results and analysis, including journals and account reconciliations in accordance with statutory, regulatory, legislative and funder requirements
- The effective supervision and leadership of members of the Finance team ensuring timely and accurate payroll, accounts payable and receivable functions
- Preparing annual budget, and providing budgetary reporting and control to the Leadership team and Board
- Ensuring integrity and timeliness of financial record keeping, performance reporting, and variance analysis focused on key measures to underpin business performance improvement
- Contributing to the effective implementation and operation of our Client/Integrated performance system and its associated modules with particular relevance to our financial, payroll and compliance systems and their interface with Xero and external payor systems including the NDIA’s provider portal
- Proactively coordinating engagement of financial auditor, and providing all financial and business records as required to support accurate independent audit of our financial transactions, practices and systems in accordance with Accounting Standards
- Participating in relevant Board sub-committee meetings as required, and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support the achievement of our vision, purpose, strategic and operational goals, and in particular the Board, Chief Executive, and Leadership team.
- Contributing to specific projects as required, drawing on the continuous improvement principles of Lean methodology.
