About the Role:
We are looking for a full-time, experienced ACCOUNTANT with a strong work ethic to join our team. Our company welcomes all skilled job seekers with full-time working rights.
You will need to perform the following duties:
- Utilizing computerized accounting systems like XERO, MYOB, and Excel for tasks such as data entry, accruals, prepayments, and recording deferred revenues and expenses.
- Compiling and analyzing account data to prepare financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and entries for assets, liabilities, and capital accounts.
- Assisting in the development of budgetary and accounting policies and upholding accounting controls through established policies and procedures.
- Conducting financial research and investigations, compiling reports and audits, and offering advice on transactions such as business acquisitions, mergers, capital financing, and taxation issues.
- Offering guidance on accounting and financial aspects of business structures, planning, and operations.
- Handling tax returns, Payroll Tax, BAS, annual FBT, and taxable payment reports for the ATO, along with special purpose financial reports for various entities.
- Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all internal and external financial reports, including annual reports and statements.
- Providing expertise in financial reporting, auditing, bankruptcy, and accounting information systems, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Supporting ad-hoc accounting projects, including audits, budget preparations, and forecasting.
- Reconciling financial discrepancies by reviewing operating costs and analyzing organizational income and expenses.
- Verifying the accuracy of financial report information.
- Enhancing compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, advising on necessary actions to meet federal, state, and local financial laws.
- Securing financial data through routine database backups and robust internal controls.
- Carrying out additional tasks as required.
The essential requirement for this position:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role with at least a relevant bachelor's degree (Accounting or Finance)
- Self-motivated and highly organised
- Possess an excellent level of both verbal and written communication skills and able to build and maintain good customer relationship
- Excellent customer service and phone etiquette.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Salary setting
AUD 70,000 – AUD 75,000 plus 11.0%superannuation
