Job description

About the role:

The position provides an excellent career opportunity to join a cohesive team in our asset management company, working to support other Accountants and Accounting Manager. This role based in our Sydney corporate office is available as full-time.

Salary to be negotiated based on experience with extensive salary packaging available for employees, along with the opportunity for personal and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the senior accountant or Accounting Manager with daily, weekly and monthly tasks
  • Process journal entries and bookkeeping to ensure all business transactions are recorded
  • Process payroll and attending to all payroll queries
  • Issuing invoices
  • Preparing weekly payment report
  • Monthly bank reconciliation
  • Assist monthly end process
  • Assist preparing business activity statement and income tax return information for external accountant
  • Support other team members as necessary
  • Analyse fund performance on a periodic basis.
  • Daily/Monthly/Quarterly reconciliation of investment positions and fair market values.
  • Assist with reviewing compliance and regulatory filings.
  • Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation of assets.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Accounting Manager 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance or equivalent
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite
  • Financial reporting, budgeting, and analytical skills

experience and Knowledge Requirements

1. Minimum 1 year of accounting experience.
2. Advanced Excel skills, including Vlookup and pivot table creation.
3. Ability to work with numerical information with accuracy and diligence.
4. High-level planning, time management, organisation, and efficiency skills
5. Strong attention to detail.
6. Strong understanding of accounting with proven experience applying these

    Concepts.

7. Good communication skills.
8. Ability to work with minimal supervision, be self-reliant, and be results orientated.
