Our client is a long established and dynamic family office with diversified business activities in areas such as superyacht operations, charter and sales brokerage, property development and broad investment activities. Kogan People Solutions are engaged to assist this office in this critical recruitment effort as they seek a qualified ambitious and skilled Accountant to join their thriving business to propel them to even greater success.

This is a full-time, ongoing position

Location – Sydney CBD

About the role

This role will suit someone who is commercially minded, is a self-starter and can work and solve problems autonomously in a fast-paced environment. You will have the support of a small, hardworking, and close-knit finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Formulating budgetary and accounting policies and procedures

·       Preparing financial statements for presentation to management, stakeholders, and external parties

·       Conducting financial analysis (including careful income and expense analysis), preparing reports on a monthly, quarterly & annual basis to internal and external stakeholders

·       Preparing regulatory workpapers

·       Maintaining and updating accounting and other business software,

·       Maintaining internal control systems

·       Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and accounting standards

·       Ensuring that accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other financial documents and reports are available to stakeholders.

·       Overseeing payables, receivables, and similar accounts functions

Applicants considered for interview will present with the following skills and attributes:

·        You have verifiable experience as an Accountant managing the accounting function within a similarly busy and complex muti currency environment

·        Bachelor’s degree in accounting

·        (Ideally) working knowing of with Xero, Excel, Approval Max and Dext Software

·        At least 2 years working experience since you earned your qualifications.

·        CA or CPA or progress towards same

·        A well organised working style – able to cheerfully meet demanding work requirements

·        Excellent written and verbal communication style

·        Working rights – you can work full time in Australia without any restriction.
