Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Accountant to join the finance team at our client's Head Office located in Derrimut. Reporting directly to the General Manager of Finance and Administration, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and compliance of our client's operations. As an integral part of the team, you will contribute to the organisation's mission of connecting people to every opportunity and supporting them in achieving their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Reconciliation of cash held, bank, and general ledger accounts.
Preparation and processing of monthly superannuation liabilities.
Handling quarterly Portable Long Service Leave tasks.
Fortnightly payroll processing.
Preparation of monthly financial reports.
Oversight of Work Cover processes and payments.
Integration of data into Microsoft Dynamics.
Creditor payments, debtor invoicing, and collections.
Production of specific reporting outcomes to meet deadlines.
Maintenance of documentation and continual process improvement.
Key Responsibility Areas and Performance Measures:
Payroll: Ensure timely completion and accuracy of payroll processing.
Trainee Claims: Submit claims and maintain records promptly.
Financial Reports: Meet deadlines for monthly financial reporting.
PLSL: Process quarterly returns by the required date.
Finances: Handle invoicing, general journal entries.
Compliance: Ensure payroll and accounts transactions meet accounting standards.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience Required:
NDIS Worker Screening Check.
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, or Commerce, CPA or CA qualified.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards.
Experience in the disability field preferred.
Strong organisational skills and ability to manage priorities effectively.
Business acumen and strategic thinking.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Integrity, professionalism, and high ethical standards.
Understanding of financial constraints in the not-for-profit sector.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Advanced computing skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools, in particular excel.
