Based in sunny Wagga Wagga, we're now on the hunt for a talented Accounting Assistant who knows more than how to wrangle numbers and balance the books!
Working within a global asset management company with head office based in Wagga Wagga, who currently has an exciting growth phase in progress, you will have the opportunity to delve into the day to day Accounting and Administration.
You’ll have plenty of support from the accounting team so your focus can be totally in-house, you will assist to prepare all of the crucial accounting reports and administrative tasks.

Hey we’re recruiters, not accountants!
With an in-depth knowledge of XERO or MYOB or similar programs, as well as the Microsoft Office suite, you will be able to hit the ground running in the first three months, getting to know how the business works and the internal systems specific to your role. You will also be up-skilled in the use of the accounting software.
Your analytical mind, attention to detail and self motivating skills are second to none. You'll have full autonomy… No micromanagement here!
So be prepared to be left to your own devices to get the job done.
Need a hand? You’ll receive assistance from the Financial Controller and the local and global Accounting team when/if required.
You’ll also be actively encouraged to bring your personality to work… Who said working in Accounting was boring?!
Keeping you on your toes, some of your responsibilities include; Bank reconciliations, assisting the team with accounts payable for 300-400 invoices per week for row crop, viticulture and horticultural properties, clearing the accounts inbox daily, tracking Crop and Property insurances, ensuring renewals are diarised and calendarized, accounting for leases, as well as meeting reporting deadlines.
You’ll have at least 2-3 years of solid end to end bookkeeping experience on your record. But hey, if you're an aspiring Accountant or part way through your studies, or looking for a change from public practice accounting we’d still love to chat!
A large part of your role will be to ensure the day to day of the accounting function runs smoothly, and to assist with the accurate, and timely monthly, quarterly and annual reports of financial information.
The team take their jobs seriously, but not themselves and enjoy having a good laugh, so it’s no surprise that you’ll come in with a sunny disposition and the ability to get along with the hard working team.
