The Role
As an Accounting Associate specialising in taxation, you will play a pivotal role in engaging with clients, assisting with individual tax returns, and providing support for sole trader businesses' taxation needs. We are on the lookout for an individual with exceptional customer service skills, with some foundational knowledge in taxation and accounting and a vibrant personality that thrives in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Customer-Facing Support
- Engage with clients in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Assist clients in completing individual tax returns through effective questioning, guidance, and answering queries.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, anticipating and addressing their accounting needs.
Taxation Work
- Collaborate with senior accountants to prepare and review tax returns for individual clients and small businesses.
- Conduct research to stay updated on relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and provide recommendations to clients.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with team members, sharing knowledge and providing support as needed.
- Participate in team meetings, contributing innovative ideas to enhance processes and efficiency.
- Collaborate on projects and assignments as required.
- Contribute to process improvement.
Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all necessary accounting and tax-related documents.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date client files and records.
- Adhere to industry regulations, ethical standards, and internal policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Skills
- Exceptional face-to-face and digital customer service skills.
- Experience and interest in taxation and accounting.
- Currently studying a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Accounting or similar is desirable, but we also welcome individuals with tax consultant training and experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple assignments.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
