Due to growth, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistantto be based in Sydney.
The Role
The Accounts Assistantwill focus on owning and managing the multiple entity accounts payable and receivable function.
Responsibilities
- Assist the finance manager with daily accounts-related duties
- General accounts payable and accounts receivable duties
- Prepare, process, and reconcile accounts, invoices, and payments
- Create and update expense reports
- Process reimbursement forms
- Prepare bank deposits
- Enter financial transactions into internal databases
- Prepare month-end reporting, including profit and loss statements
- Manage ledgers and ensure accurate financial record keeping across departments
- Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed
- Participate in quarterly and annual audits
- Contact clients and vendors as necessary to ensure accurate and on-time payments
Skills and Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of solid work experience as an Accounts Assistant / Accounts Admin
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable and payable functions
- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., XERO, MYOB)
- Payroll experience is a great advantage
- Familiarity with finance regulations
- Strongly detail-oriented with a heavy focus on maintaining accuracy and integrity of accounts
- Ability to quickly learn and utilize industry-specific accounting tools
- Ability to multitask across several types of finance-related projects
