Accounts Assistant

The Newgate Group operates a large thoroughbred horse stud based at Aberdeen in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Due to the growth of the business, Newgate is seeking to fill a new role of Accounts Assistant. It is envisaged that this will be a full-time role, however, we will consider part time/variable hours for the right candidate. The role will include but not be limited to the following tasks:

• Daily bank data entry and reconciliations
• Processing of payments including supporting paperwork and remittance advices
• Preparation of reconciliations
• Supporting the Accounts Payable and Receivable functions
• Assisting with the end of month process
• Other administrative tasks as required

The ideal candidate will have good people skills and the ability to work effectively with others, along with the following skills:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar role
• Experience with Ardex and Sage 300 (preferable but not essential)
• Strong Microsoft Office suite skills, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word
• High level of written and verbal communication and numeracy skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Highly organised, motivated, and able to work efficiently and accurately
