Viridios group has also recently acquired a major stake in Pangolin Associates Pty Ltd a Carbon Accounting and Consultancy firm, assisting businesses using high level expertise to provide services and comprehensive solutions that empower organisations to measure, manage and mitigate their carbon footprint.  

What are we  looking for?

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial  Manager to join our team at Viridios Group Pty Ltd, reporting to the Financial Controller of Viridios Group Pty Ltd. The successful individual will be positive and focused with exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail. The Finance and Accounts Manager will work across all three of the businesses in the Group and will play a crucial role in optimising our internal financial processes and procedures ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records, helping to ensure seamless day-to-day financial operations, and contributing to the overall success of the company.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work either full time or part time working from our Sydney office in Mosman Australia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing and overseeing daily operations of the accounting department including month and end-year process, accounts payable/receivables, payroll and utilities.
• Supervise the account receivable and payable functions to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions. 
• Work closely with the team to resolve billing and payment discrepancies. 
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies. 
• Assist the financial controller with external audits, liaising with external auditors and assisting to collate data and any required information.  
• Address audit queries and implement recommendations to enhance financial processes. 
• Monitoring and analysing accounting data and assisting with producing financial reports.
• Ability to prepare presentations of financial results and insights to the Board including clearly identifying the financial risks and opportunities of the business.
• Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles. 
• Identify financial risks in the business and escalate to the Financial Controller, as appropriate
• Implement changes to streamline financial operations and enhance efficiency
• Assisting with some Human Resources functions within Pangolin.
• Managing Insurance renewals across the businesses

REQUIRED

• Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.
• 5+ years experience in a relevant role
• Previous experience with Xero Accounting software
• Ability to work autonomously, self motivated and goal oriented. 
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Highly organised with excellent time management skills, 
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively collaborate with internal colleagues
• Advanced computer skills on MS Office and SharePoint, including the ability to prepare Powerpoint presentations.  
• Experience with Atlassian’s Jira systems and a knowledge and keen interest in Carbon markets and Climate Change policy would be advantageous though not essential. 
• Certification or degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, CPA or relevant professional certification highly regarded.
