Urban Building Solutions Pty Ltd (UBS) is a growing company within the building insurance industry. Having a large portfolio of national clients within insurance and strata, we are regarded as one of the most prominent insurance building service providers in New South Wales. With a new head office in Summer Hill, UBS operates from Batemans Bay, Goulburn, Sydney Metro through to Newcastle, Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay. UBS is in the process of expanding further into the ACT and SE Queensland in the next 3-6 months.
We are currently seeking a Accounts Manager / Financial Controller with an enthusiastic “can-do” attitude and problem-solving ability to join our Sydney team. In this role you will be reporting to the Managing Director. Working alongside our parent company ARA, the focus of the role is to manage every aspect of the company accounts. There is opportunity for an immediate start, however we are prepared to wait for the right person to join us. Full training will be given.
Previous experience working for a building company or similar is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Initially immerse yourself into the accounts department to understand all the procedures and requirements – and subsequently suggest improvements if applicable to increase the efficiency of the department
- Manage both payable and receivable accounts personal, assisting where required to ensure all works are up to date and to KPI.
- Provide ongoing training to all of your staff
- Conduct performance reviews to train and hopefully promote staff within as the company expands
- Conduct recruitment interviews for new employees
- Coordinate with trade suppliers and clients regarding invoice queries if escalated
- Allocate all payments and process ready for approval by Director, such as trade payments, credit card payments, petty cash and the like
- Manage all ATO, NSW revenue requirements

- UBS, part of the ARA Group, are in the process of expanding both into different geographical areas along with different construction services which will provide numerous opportunities to expand both knowledge within the building industry and offer potential management promotion to the right people.
Selections Criteria:
- Minimum 5 years proven experience in a similar role.
- High level knowledge of MYOB
- Positive, problem-solving attitude
- Demonstrate exceptional organisational and administrative skills - attention to detail is a must in this role
