Due to continued growth, Maas have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Officer to join our Commercial Properties team.
The Accounts Officer will assist the finance department in achieving its objectives by following financial processes. You must be a self-driven, organised individual who can establish and maintain relationships while maintaining the flexibility to work across several duties simultaneously and manage different deadlines.
The role is responsible in supporting the Finance Manager in safeguarding the business by ensuring the timely and accurate processing of the costs and accounting requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Accounts payable (AP) including but not limited to: entering invoices, seeking appropriate management authorisation, reconciling supplier accounts, liaising with suppliers, investigating and resolving supplier issues.
- Accounts receivable (AR) including but not limited to: invoicing and receipting, receiving physical payments, customer account reconciliations, front line customer service including investigating and resolving customer queries.
- Bank/Credit Card reconciliations for the designated companies.
- All aspects of end-of-month close and reporting on AP/AR for financial management team for the designated companies.
- Assist the finance manager with end-of-month, tender submission, budgeting and taxation processes.
- Enter timesheets & submit leave forms on behalf of staff.
- Effective and clear communication with other team members in the shared services division and the financial management team.
- Preparation of project variance reports.
- Providing the project management team with information as required.
- Assist the contract administration/tendering team as required.
- All other reasonable duties as requested by the Finance Manager.
Skills and experience required:
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Knowledge of AP/AR procedures
- Competent Microsoft PC skills and aptitude
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Enthusiastic team member
- Adaptability
- Use of initiative, pro-active and organised approach to work
- Takes ownership of outcomes and can balance accuracy with timeliness
