About the role :
As an Accounts Officer you will be responsible for the organisation’s general bookkeeping and monitoring of account transactions. You will be responsible for accounts Payable and Receivable duties across the business creating and maintaining accurate, extensive financial records, processing of payments and invoices, with greater efficiency.
This is an initial maternity cover for 12 months, with potential for extension.
ACCOUNTS PAYABLE AND RECEIVABLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process invoices in Xero, via Light Year.
- Process and reconcile expense payment, staff reimbursements, ensuring all costs are capture.
- Raise expense accrual as required for period close.
- Raise Sales invoices, collection outstanding debtors.
- Download of Bank statements, and process bank transactions in Xero on timely manner
- Update and maintain vendor database in a timely manner
- Perform reconciliations including supplier statement reconciliations, credit card reconciliations
- Support the month end process, including drafting of journal entries and updating GL reconciliations as required.
SKLLS & EXPERIENCE:
- At least 2+ year experience working in similar role.
- Have studied in Australia at tertiary level.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and Accounting packages
- Ability work as part of a team
- Flexibility with days/ hours and willingness to work outside of normal business hours in lieu of overtime – time in lieu will be provided as the preferred option
