About the RoleThe Accounts Payable Officer is primarily responsible for the management of Accounts Payable to ensure invoices are recorded accurately and payments are made on a timely basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience- Significant experience working in a similar role.
- Tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience.
- Collaborative skills, with the demonstrated ability to contribute significantly and productively in working effectively as part of a team.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word.
- Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail including accuracy in data entry.
- High level of customer service to staff, parents, and other School stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise tasks within a busy environment.
- Manage petty cash to ensure accountability.
- Manage Accounts Payable data entry ensuring appropriate approvals of expenditures and correct G/L coding.
- Prepare EFT Accounts Payable batches for review by the Accountant and Director of Business and Operations.
- Prepare manual cheques as required.
- Provide high level of customer service regarding the management of invoices including prompt payment.
- Manage enquiries from staff or creditors efficiently and effectively.
- Manage process and software improvements.
- Create new vendors in School database as required and as approved by the Accountant.
- Process General Ledger journal entries as required.
- Take cash and cheque deposits to the bank as required.
- Assist where required at Reception.
- Process credit card payments on an EFTPOS machine as required.
- Manage credit card reconciliations.
- Manage General Ledger reconciliations as required.
- Manage daily bank reconciliations.
- Support the Finance Team in the audit process.
- Other tasks as delegated by the Director of Business and Operations, Finance Manager or Accountant
Commencement Date: Immediate start
