We are seeking an experienced Accounts Officer to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer, this role is essential to the finance function.
This is diverse role involving all aspects of accounts receivables and accounts payables and some administrative duties. This role would also provide the successful candidate an opportunity to get exposure to accounting transactions and compliance. This will be a permanent position and may suit a graduate looking to obtain further experience in the field, or someone experienced looking for a long-term role. Situated in West Perth, metres from the CBD provides the opportunity to commute to work via public transport.
Key duties include:
Accounts Receivable
- Raising monthly and ad-hoc invoices in the accounting system and client’s portals.
- Debt Collection
- Liaise with project and sales team with regard to invoicing and related queries
- Setting up customer profiles in the accounting system
- Updating Monthly customer out of contract report
- Maintaining ongoing data integrity in the reporting and accounting system
Accounts Payable
- Processing and entering supplier invoices into accounting system.
- Receiving and processing vendor invoices for goods and services.
- Coding and allocating purchase order and invoices to cost centres and projects.
- Preparing periodical suppliers’ payment runs and employee reimbursements
- Uploading online EFT and International payments
- Liaising with logistics staff in processing prepayment and invoices.
- Setting up suppliers in the accounting system and verifying bank details
Administration
- Managing Accounts inbox ~ 50 emails daily
- Processing daily bank reconciliations
- Processing monthly reconciliations of credit cards
- Maintaining various monthly cost breakdown working papers.
- Assisting in cashflow management reporting.
- Assisting in answering phones
- Assisting in half-year review and year-end audit
- Assisting in internal reporting (e.g., monthly subscription room numbers report)
- Ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications and Experience: Essential
You are a self-starter, who is just as comfortable working independently or as part of a small team. Your creative flair and eye for detail allows you to offer innovative suggestions to improve accounts processes and you relish the challenge of learning new systems.
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience across Accounts Payable and Receivable
- Excellent numeracy/literacy skills
- Ability to work to tight deadlines. Display accuracy and attention to detail.
- Positive, ‘can do’ attitude with strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise workload
- Proven experience and knowledge in MS Office products (especially Excel)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Understanding of Netsuite is desirable but not essential
