Offices are located towards Melbourne's northern suburbs and can be accesses by private or public transport . You will be working for a very friendly and supportive non for profit organisation who are in a phase of expansion. They offer full training and also hybrid working so you can work from home 2 days per week.
The Role
This role will be hired initially on a 6 month contracting basis though there is a strong chance for permanency at that stage if all goes well. The anticipated commencement date for this position is Monday the 11th of March so interviews will be taking place as soon as possible so please apply today.
This is a highly commercial and analytical role which focuses on improvement of processes and procedures within the areas of Accounts Payable, Procurement and Purchasing. We are seeking applications from either:
- Senior Accounts Payable/Purchasing/Procurement professionals
- Accountants who have overseen the above areas
- Financial Analysts who have overseen the above areas
Typical day to day duties in this position will likely involve:
- Management and development of financial operational procedures, control and systems
- Analyse current procedures in invoice processing, purchasing and procurement and identify areas for efficiency and streamlining
- Work with management to drive new change and operational streamlining
- Conduct GAAP analysis
- High level use of excel for analytical purposes
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with major suppliers
- Conduct analysis and reporting to enable management oversight of financial operations and service delivery activities
- Supplier statement reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, and managing outstanding transactions
- Coordinate and submit consolidated reports in preparation for month-end activities
- Establish and update procedural manuals inherent to the position
- Develop and present financial operational training programs

Your Profile
You will have a background in Accounting and Finance with a minimum of 1 years experience in a similar position. The following attributes will also be highly advantageous:
- Exposure to influencing change within Accounts Payable, procurement and/or purchasing
- Comfortable working in Melbourne's northern suburbs
- Able to start by Monday the 8th of January
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Track record of financial analysis and implementing process improvement
- Long term working rights in Australia
