The role:
The Financial Accountant position exists to support the CFO and Financial Controller and will play a key role within the finance team, leading the statutory and financial accounting and reporting for the group.
Within the role you will be exposed to, and have responsibility for:
- Financial recording and reporting – Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements etc
- Statutory reporting
- Consolidation of financial data from multiple entities or business units
- Compliance and Audit: Coordinate with external auditors and ensure timely provision of requested documentation and information
- Refining and improving systems and procedures
- End of month, end of financial year and ad hoc reporting as required
Your key to success:
Given the nuances of the industry, experience working within a manufacturing, warehousing, industrial or extractive resources environment (or an aligned organisation) will be looked upon favourably.
Candidates working (or have worked within) an accounting practice with exposure to these types of industries will also be reviewed favourably.
Experience in stocktake activities - counting and recording the quantities of goods in stock to compare the results with available inventory data and find discrepancies etc will be highly regarded.
Having a pro-active mindset and a natural inclination to take ownership of your role are both attributes that will see you set up for success within the position.
