Accounts Payable Lead

An opportunity has emerged for a skilled individual to become the Accounts Payable Lead within our dynamic Finance team. 

This role is responsible for the leadership and development of the Accounts Payable division. This role is crucial to driving the accurate and efficient processing of payments, accounts and reports, in line with agreed timeframes and compliance regulations. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Leading the end-to-end Accounts Payable function to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts, payments and expense reports.  
• Managing all month-end processes, ensuring completion is within agreed timeframes 
• Mentoring and developing a team of four, driving a high-performing culture. 
• Develop, adapt and maintain streamlined AP processes ensuring the efficiency of workflows and authorisations. 
• Manage Accounts Payable reporting and data analysis, providing strategic recommendations for improvement.  
• Drive a best-practice and compliance focused culture ensuring internal controls and policies are adhered to. 
• Analyse and provide detailed and comprehensive reporting for Senior Leadership. 
• Partner with the Financial Leadership to drive performance and team targets.  

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: 

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance. 
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar leadership role, ideally in Retail.  
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 – BI reporting systems, preferred.  
• Demonstrable experience leading a team of 3-4 in a high-volume environment working on large-to-medium transactions with proven successful outcomes. 
• A strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, compliance standards and legislation.  
• Proficient in Accounting software and ERP programs including process automation and systems optimisation. 
• Exceptional leadership and communication style with an ability to mentor a diverse team. 
• Detailed-orientated with strong analytical skills and a solutions mind-set to navigate daily trouble-shooting.
