Accounts Payable Officer
Contract: April to August 2024
Location: Oran Park - NSW
We are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Officer to ensure the efficient and timely payment of suppliers, adhering to relevant legislation, accounting practices, and organizational policies.

- Process supplier invoices in accordance with organizational policies and payment terms
- Ensure completion of two Accounts Payable cycles weekly, adhering to strict close-off times
- Maintain low error rates in invoice processing
- Creation of new accounts as required
- Familiarity with the Purchase to Payment process, including purchase orders, invoices, and goods received
- Clearing of Accounts Payable inbox daily and monitoring of late accounts
- Utilize financial software efficiently to process invoices and deliver remittance advices
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards
- Familiarity with the online purchasing system and other financial software functionalities
- Provide assistance and support to the Accounts Supervisor as needed
- Maintenance and updating of Accounts Payable procedures and documentation
- Act as Accounts Payable Supervisor during periods of leave
- Ensure GST compliance of all invoices before payment
- Storage of records in compliance with relevant regulations and organizational policies
- Provide excellent customer service to both external and internal customers

- Experience in processing large volumes of supplier invoices
- Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of Goods and Services Tax (GST) legislation
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proven ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Previous experience in Local Government
- Familiarity with "Authority" FMIS or similar financial management systems
- Advanced Excel and Word skills
