Solution Architect - Data

Our client is undertaking a digital transformation towards becoming a utility of the future by implementing a fully digital system where their systems and data, and therefore their people, are better connected.The Digital Division for the department provides and supports information and communications technology products, services and solutions for the organisation and its subsidiary companies.The role is business outcome focussed and drives innovation and agility through solutions that will deliver business and technology change/s in support of core organisational functions, business strategies, Digital strategies, and operational Enterprise Architecture plans.The Solution Architect Key Accountabilities are:

• Provide expert advice in Solution Architecture and document supporting Design(s) for the department that focus on business objectives and creation of value for our customers
• Develop and manage relationships with key clients and the Digital leadership team to support the identification, coordination, and planning of services to ensure they are kept in strategic alignment
• Ensuring that new initiatives and projects are identified, defined, and aligned with the department business plans and strategies
• Identification, resolution and management of any Solution Architecture issues or exemptions
• Provision of "internal consulting" expertise to staff in respect of technology architectures
• Provision of appropriate advice regarding architecture options to the appropriate forums and stakeholders across digital and the business
• Production of Solution Architecture design artefacts
• Negotiation of best possible business and technological outcomes
• Delivering Architecture solutions that are developed to reflect the required integrations across the Digital group and the department's application set and mapped against enterprise-wide Architecture design and principles
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, and relevant policies, procedures and practices as required
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to Safety & Environmental Programs to ensure personal safety and the safety of others, a workplace free from discrimination and harassment and a philosophy of quality assurance and pollution and waste prevention

In addition, knowledge sharing with permanent staff is expected across the Solution Architecture group as well as between the Platform team members.Requirements:

• Strong experience in delivering large scale data and intelligence solutions that are customer and services centric, easy to consume and create business impact in hybrid environments (on-premise and multi-cloud)
• Strong experience in designing and implementing large scale cloud data ecosystems that embed cyber, risk and information security standards
• Designing end-to-end cloud-based solutions that are highly available, scalable, stable, secure, and cost-effective
• Experience in designing and implementing cloud migration strategies for on premise data warehousing and analytical solutions
• Experience in commercial documentation and negotiations related to product or application assessment, tenders and commercial agreements
• Highly skilled in communicating across different levels within the organisation, able to explain technical issues and IT solution strategies to a variety of stakeholders
• Ensure that Solution Architecture is designed with optimizing business goals, whilst mitigating associated Application & infrastructure technology risks.
