Accounts Payable Officer

You will work closely with the finance team, procurement, and the broader business to ensure efficient and effective control of supplier payments.

You will be responsible for the day to day management of Accounts Payable process for Australia and New Zealand. To ensure the company pays vendors according to agreed terms and all paperwork is processed promptly and within our expected performance measures.

You will chip in at month end with other finance department tasks assisting in end of month accounting and support of other key functions within the finance team.

Your primary duties are:

• Process Supplier Invoices and including coding ensuring relevant approvals. Monthly we receive around 1000, so you need to average 50 processed invoices per day.
• Accurate and timely payment of vendor invoices, prepayments and customer refunds - domestic and overseas on weekly and monthly basis according to our payments schedule and vendor contracts.
• Review supplier statements and investigate missing invoices.
• Identify any PPV (Price Purchase Variances) or receipting issues with Purchasing Team.
• Prepare payment runs as per cycle.  We pay our suppliers on weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles.
• Produce functional reports as per reporting schedule.
• Support finance team, including end of month processes.

Expertise: Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Accounts Payable.
• Professional, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving ability.
• Awareness of foreign currency transactions
• Be alert to fraud and phishing and have a high level of cyber security awareness
• Well-developed analytical skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with a large ERP system i.e. Infor LN / SAP / Oracle / Microsoft Dynamics.
• Corporate Finance or bookkeeping exposure.
• Ability to interact and communicate with all levels in the organization.
• Attention to detail.
