Accounts Payable Officer

Cappello has been operating within the Construction Industry since 2003 and has built an extensive client base of government and private sector clients. Our clients have included local, state, territory and Commonwealth Government agencies, developers, architects, property owners and investors. Cappello has grown over the years and now has over 100 employees.

Since 2011 Core Developments has completed residential and commercial projects in the Canberra region exceeding $100 million. We started as a small construction company and have grown into a full-scale development company with over 30 employees.

About the Role: Accounts Payable 

• Review creditor emails 
• Reconcile supplier statements 
• Invoice Entry Dropbox (OCR) 
• Docket/Paperwork Collection and chasing Supervisors to approve invoices 
• Posting invoices 
• Manually registering invoices 
• Post Pending Batches 
• Generate ABA Files for Manager to pay 
• Send remittance advice 
• Filing/Archiving 

Finance – for various entities within the Group 

• Bank reconciliations 
• Data entry into MYOB and Jobpac   
• Inter-entity loan reconciliations 
• Maintaining asset registers and depreciation schedules 
• Maintaining chattel mortgage registers 
• Assisting the Group Accountant with year-end reporting   

Experience and Knowledge

• At least 1 year of experience working in an Accounts Payable role 
• Construction industry experience (desirable)
• Experience with a range of accounting and financial packages (Jobpac preferred but not essential)

• Strong attention to detail
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
• High-level organisation skills including well-developed priority-setting skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or other suitable Finance qualification (or currently studying)
