Accounts Payable Officer

We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Accounts Payable Officer to join our friendly and supportive Accounts team at our Ballarat head office.

About the ROLE

If you are a 'numbers person' this is the role for you. Training will be provided.

Working in a finance team of 10 and reporting to the Finance Manager, the main responsibilities will include;

• Invoice uploads and invoice allocation 
• Ensure invoices are correctly coded and authorised for processing supplier payments within the Company trading terms.
• Identify and prepare weekly/ monthly creditor payments.
•  Supplier account reconciliation and resolving AP queries
• Provide backup relief for Payroll Officer
• Willing to assist with other duties within the Finance team as required
• Build positive working relationships with supplier
• Provide input to the overall team and finance function.

To be successful in this important role, you will need: 

• End-to-end Accounts Payable experience, along with experience in reconciliations and end of month activities
• Comfortable and capable of working within a high-volume transactional environment
• Able to manage multiple tasks with a high-level attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to confidently work in a team environment
• Professional and courteous phone manner; strong customer service mindset
• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting/ERP software
• Communicate effectively in both written and verbal form across all levels of the business
• Analytical skills, ability to identify discrepancies and ensure accuracy
