We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor preferably a candidate from the local area to join our finance team. As an Accounts Payable Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable process, managing a team of AP professionals, and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. You will play a crucial role in maintaining financial accuracy and fostering strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Accounts Payable function, actively participating in AP processing to support the team's workload.
- Guaranteeing the team's work is precise, with invoices appropriately approved for payment in a timely manner.
- Ensuring the team efficiently manages the allocation of purchase order numbers (if applicable) and promptly resolves associated issues.
- Supervising the resolution of any matters that team members escalate.
- Managing the credit card and staff expense claims process.
- Strategizing and executing vendor payment runs.
- Maintaining the accuracy of the vendor database.
- Conducting reconciliations of supplier statements, credit cards, and related records.
- Creating journals for month-end reporting.
- Continuously improving the Accounts Payable process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
To be successful in the position you will have:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting or a related field (preferred).
- Possess more than 5 years of experience in a Senior Accounts Payable position.
- Demonstrate proficiency in performing end-to-end Accounts Payable responsibilities.
- Experience in actively participating in comprehensive P2P projects an advantage.
- Understanding of basic accounting and Accounts Payable principles, including general ledger coding.
- Proven ability in managing and leading a team of staff.
- Capable of effectively prioritizing and handling multiple tasks within a dynamic work environment.
- Skilful at identifying and leading new initiatives.
- Foster positive and productive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Proficient in investigating issues and devising effective solutions.
- Recognize the paramount importance of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Possess intermediate computer software skills, including Excel and various accounting software packages.
