About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing and management of the Accounts Receivable function.
This complex Accounts Receivable role would suit an experienced Accounts Receivable professional looking for their next challenge, or a Junior Accountant looking for a career opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of client accounts and working with billing systems to generate invoices.
- Work effectively with the NDIA and DCSI Portals to upload invoices for payment and all related Accounts Receivable functions.
- Provision of information to the Finance Manager regarding NDIS and DCSI Contracts, quotes and service agreements.
- Ensure contracts are adequately maintained.
- Accurate and timely reconciliation of the Accounts Receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted (per documented intervals).
- Accurate and timely debtor statements are generated in accordance with documented timeframes, including activities related to NDIS funding.
- Debt collection.
- Effective and timely resolution of customer/debtor queries; responses are generated within agreed timeframes or unresolved queries are appropriately escalated to the Finance Manager.
- Processing of bank account transactions occurs within agreed timeframes along with reconciliation of bank account transactions.
- Documentation of all Accounts Receivable processes are maintained and up to date at all times.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and implement with support and guidance from the Finance Manager.
- Work collaboratively within the Finance team and other Lighthouse Disability staff to ensure workflows are effective and timeframes are met.
- Establishes and maintains strong relationships with customers and other external stakeholders such as the Public Trustee.
- Supports and implements the policies and procedures of the Finance team and Lighthouse Disability.
About You
- 2 + years demonstrated experience in Accounts Receivable.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and initiative.
- Ability to work both autonomously and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated time management skills.
- Experience in debt collection.
- Strong reporting and IT skills, including accounting software systems.
- Demonstrated effective use of client management systems.
- High level of analytical and numeracy skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Driven and self-motivated.
