About this role:
We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accounts Receivable Officer to join our finance team. This position plays a crucial role in managing financial transactions related to student tuition, fees, and other receivables within our school, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality in all accounting processes.
Job tasks and responsibilities:
Process Accounts Receivable invoices and incoming payments for tuition, fees, and other school-related expenses.
Generate and distribute invoices, statements, and reminders to parents/guardians in a timely manner.
Reconcile Accounts Receivable ledger to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies related to student accounts.
Monitor Accounts Receivable aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances discreetly and sensitively.
Assist in month-end closing processes and financial reporting as needed to support school operations.
Collaborate with school staff and administrators to address billing inquiries and provide financial support as needed.
Support ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned by the Director of Finance or school leadership.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding sensitive financial information and student records.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field desirable but not mandatory.
Relevant experience in Accounts Receivable and/or accounts payable roles desirable.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
Understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations relevant to educational institutions.
Excellent organisational and communication skills, with a focus on professionalism and sensitivity in all interactions.
Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced school environment.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and discretion regarding financial and student-related information.
Possess or be willing to obtain a Working With Children Check (WWCC).
Proficient in the use of Google Docs, Sheets and Google Drive.
Excellent presentation and communication skills.
