About the role
Our Finance team requires an experienced self-motivated Accounts Receivable Officer on a full-time basis located at our Head Office in Virginia.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytic and reconciliation skills.
Duties will include:
- Responsibility of the end-to-end Accounts Receivable and Credit Control.
- Assessment and processing of credit applications and analysis to manage risk
- Timely collection of customer account payments within strict specified terms
- End-to-end reconciling of customer Accounts.
- Preparation and distribution of monthly Statements.
- Prepare and maintain Debtors Reporting - daily & monthly.
- Attend to debtor enquiries - email and telephone
- Managing customer credits, invoice amendment, apportionment, and payer queries through to resolution
- Review aged debt lists to identify outstanding accounts that can be followed up and ensure that the debtors are contacted
- Investigate and assist in resolving or referring customer account queries appropriately
- Assist other Finance team members in AP and other accounting duties
Reporting to the Group Accountant and working with our Internal Sales team, this role forms an integral part of our finance operations. This is a great opportunity to join a skilled and collaborative team in a role that also provides autonomy.
Requirements, Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in a full-function AR role
- Experience with a large ERP system (SAP, Oracle, JDE, NetSuite, etc.)
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and comfortable with other Microsoft Office products
- Technologically sound with the ability to pick up new systems
- Self-motivated with experience in prioritising, time management and working to deadlines
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
- Adaptable to and a willingness to contribute to change
- Takes pride in your work and ownership of outcomes
