As a Finance Officer - Accounts Receivable, you will play a fundamental role in maintaining the financial integrity of Dandenong Council through diligent management of our Sundry Debtor System. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the Sundry Debtor's Master file
- Issuing invoices, statements, and reminders promptly and efficiently
- Serving as a key liaison for our debt collection contract, ensuring meticulous monitoring of balances
- Providing expert assistance to both internal staff and external stakeholders regarding invoice and payment inquiries
- Contributing to the seamless execution of month-end and year-end tasks related to Accounts Receivable
- Offering invaluable support during audits to ensure adherence to established standards and regulations
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Certificate III or IV in Accounting or equivalent, demonstrating a sound understanding of accounting principles
- Proven experience in Accounts Receivable collection, preferably with proficiency in debtor systems
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, essential for preparing reports and engaging with stakeholders
- Outstanding customer service abilities, including the capacity to navigate challenging interactions with tact and professionalism
