Our client is a privately owned company located in Southport, looking for an Accounts Payable/Payroll officer to join the head office team. As a group, they have 200 + employees with 20 of those operating from this location. The company has been operating for more than 15 years and is well respected in the education and childcare industries.
Your new role
The role of the Accounts Payable/Payroll Officer, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for the Accounts Payable and Payroll function for the business. You will be an essential part of a dedicated finance team, working to ensure a great experience for internal and external stakeholders. This is a fast-paced team environment, and you will thrive working in a busy, challenging role.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will have proven experience operating as an Accounts Payable/Payroll officer within a fast-paced, busy team. You will need to have excellent relationship-building skills, be motivated, and great technical ability in the Accounts and Payroll functions. Additionally, you will have the ability to problem-solve, meet tight deadlines, work independently or as part of a team and demonstrate advanced skills in accounting software. Key skills will include:
- MYOB/Xero/Finance Software experience
- Experience with understanding and completing
- Credit card reconciliations and Bank Reconciliations
- Extensive experience in end to end payroll processing
- Understanding of Modern Awards to ensure compliance
- Experience data entry, processing and reconciliation of Accounts Payable
- Proficient skills working with Excel, Word and Outlook
- The ability to adapt and work within a paperless/technology-driven environment
- More than 3 years' experience in a similar position
- Current or ability to obtain a blue card
