Payroll Officer
We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated and analytical Payroll professional to join our Payroll Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to continue to grow your career within the payroll function with an iconic brand with global presence.
Reporting to the HR Shared Solutions Manager, you will join the payroll team and assist in the end to end payroll processing for approximately 1300 employees across Australia and New Zealand. You will also be responsible for employee onboarding, compliance, and be the point of contact for the internal and external audits. Other duties include interpreting and applying Award conditions, Time and Attendance processing, providing payroll reporting to management, ensuring legislation is adhered to and using your strong initiative to continually improve payroll processes.
Your New Opportunity:
Process weekly and monthly pay runs for our New Zealand and Australian teams as well as and month end payments, including PAYG withholding tax, salary sacrifice deductions, superannuation, relevant leave and workers compensation payments.
- End- of-month and end-of-year payroll reporting including financial reporting and reconciliations.
- Identify and streamline process improvements, including interpreting the Awards.
- Continuously improve payroll compliance, policies, procedures and administrative processes.
- Assisting HR in onboarding activities and all associated paperwork and audit requirements.
About You:
The successful candidate will be a clear communicator with a strong analytical background, with the following;
- Previous experience in a similar payroll processing role with Chris21, iChris, Kronos and / or Cornerstone experience an advantage.
- Payroll and HRIS system implementation experience advantageous.
- Knowledge of current legislation (Superannuation, Industrial Relations, Taxation, Payroll etc.).
- Conscientious and resilient and enjoy the variety of a busy role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including working well within a team and the ability to network and build relationships with stakeholders.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with exceptional attention to detail.
- Previous experience or ambition to progress into a Payroll Team Lead role.
