The role

The Activity Lead plays a pivotal role in managing, coordinating, and overseeing key projects and initiatives aimed at improving primary healthcare services. This role involves leading and motivating teams, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget. The Activity Lead engages with internal and external stakeholders to define project objectives and requirements, communicates project status and risks to stakeholders and senior management, and manages project resources effectively using WAPHA's corporate tools and systems. The appointee is responsible for identifying and mitigating risks, maintaining documentation, and driving continuous improvement within the team. Additionally, the Activity Lead ensures that projects align with relevant health priority strategies and contribute to promoting health equity and access to primary care services for vulnerable population groups.

This role will be offered as a Full-time Max -term contract for 12 months and offers the flexibility to work from home and office.

Key tasks and responsibilities includes but not limited to:

  • Ensures proposed activities and Activity Work Plans are approved and undertaken in accordance with WAPHA's governance committees and requirements.
  • Provide guidance to inform planning, practice improvement, system integration and commissioning of related activities.
  • Provide guidance and work with relevant stakeholders to deliver activity outcomes.
  • Act as a day-to-day point of contact for a group of stakeholders; responsible for delivery of activities or projects on behalf of the stakeholder group.
  • Delivery of specified activities or projects within pre-agreed tolerance levels in relation to quality, cost, and time.
  • Develop and support activities to increase community and provider awareness and understanding of the availability of services.
  • Identify gaps and incorporate opportunities to integrate health services, create a better experience for patients, encourage better use of health resources, and eliminate service duplication into activities.
  • Develop and manage budgets against your activity/project. Allocate resources appropriately and ensure their optimal utilisation. Identify and address resource constraints and conflicts.
  • Establish collaborative partnerships with General Practice, RACH providers. Local government, community services and other key stakeholders to influence the delivery of services in a way that promotes health equity.
  • Work collaboratively with providers to strengthen access to primary care services particularly for vulnerable population groups.

About you

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following selection criteria:

Essential experience and education

  • Tertiary level qualifications or relevant demonstrated experience in project management, human services delivery, or other relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully delivering end-to-end projects or activities using appropriate tools to plan, manage and monitor progress towards goals.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to develop strategies and ideas.
  • Highly organised and ability to skilfully manage multiple team members, stakeholders and/or agencies, managing output and content.
  • Highly developed communication skills - written, oral and presentational.
  • Proficiency with literacy of information and communication technology including project management software, word processing, software packages and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to lead cross portfolio teams to deliver activity outcomes.
  • Strategic thinking with demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and understanding of health service delivery within the Western Australian health and social context.
