About the role
An opportunity exists to join our nursing team in Acute Specialist Clinics. Eastern Health Acute Specialist Clinics are a busy department of the hospital meeting the needs of patients from the community by providing a range of specialist services. Approximately 160 000 occasions of service are provided annually. These include new patients referred from the community, review appointments for ongoing care and post admission follow up from Eastern Health’s network of hospitals. Specialist Clinics is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse, who is passionate about the patient journey and their outcome, to join the Specialist Clinic Liaison Nursing team. Acute Specialist ClinicsLiaison Nurses provide support, knowledge and advice to patients, carers and other health professionals, and are pivotal to ensuring equitable, safe and timely clinical care is delivered, through prioritising patient triage, balancing acuity and complexity, and managing and coordinating a centralised approach to Specialist Clinics appointments.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Division 1 Nurse / Midwife Registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA)
• Demonstrated specialist skills and knowledge within the specific specialty - Colorectal
• Experience and understanding of Specialist Clinics (desirable)
• Demonstrated leadership and management ability
• Demonstrated involvement in maintenance and improvement of clinical standards
• High level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.
• Computer literacy with proficiency with Microsoft Office software
• Demonstrated critical thinking skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Open, flexible and innovative with demonstrated ability to prioritise workload.
• Demonstrated understanding of conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Post Graduate qualifications relevant to the position and/or leadership and management (desirable)
• Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR), patient administration system (IPM), and Clinical Patient Folder (CPF) (desirable)
