Job description

We create brighter futures for young people. When you work with us, you join this creation.

Evolving to meet the community need since 1988, Youth Futures is one of WA’s oldest and largest youth specialist organisations currently providing 30+ programs and services across three core streams:

  • Homelessness
  • Education and Training
  • Support and Wellbeing.

We believe that all young people matter, regardless of the circumstances they find themselves in. We empower young people to take control of their future by offering them the holistic support and opportunities they need to thrive.

The successful candidate will be a passionate and suitably experienced Administration and Student Support Officer, who will join a multidisciplinary team at Youth Futures Community School Midland. This position acts as the first point of contact for the school, managing the reception/ student services desk and incoming telephone calls. The role provides administrative support to assist the day-to-day operations of the school, including tasks associated with student administration.

We are looking for someone who

  • Experience in a similar administrative role (school environment highly regarded)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team
  • Professional maturity
  • Highly organised with an ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suites
  • Experience using SEQTA will be highly regarded
  • Valid National Police Clearance.
  • Valid Working with Children's Check.

About our values

Young people come from all walks of life and so do we. What unites us is our purpose: “To be a united force of empowerment for young people marginalised by adversity and institutional discrimination".

Our values underpin everything we do. They guide our behaviour and foster a work environment that is supportive, inclusive, and empowering. While your experience and qualifications are essential to being successful in this role, alignment with our values is just as important.

Integrity – Say what we are going to do and do what we say. Progress with consideration and respect, aspiring to generate trust and confidence in all with whom we connect.

Empowerment – For individuals to be self-assured, responsible and represent theirs, and other’ interests with confidence and a sense of autonomy and authority.

Unity – There is power in the many, the collective. When we come together, connect and collaborate, good happens and no challenge, no barrier is insurmountable.

Empathy – No one person is the same, nor their journey or aspirations. Only through active listening and engagement can one aspire to know the real individual. Only from a foundation of empathy can one contribute positively to another with relevant meaning and affect.

Vigour – Our determination and our passion is pervasive. Our energy and our enthusiasm is both compelling and infectious. With restless urgency we are driven and drive positive change.

If you believe you have the attributes required to be successful within our organisation, then join us in driving positive change.
