About the position:
Woomera Aboriginal Corporation is looking for a full-time Administration Assistant to manage the day- to-day administration tasks and reception of the organisation.
Main duties:
- Performing reception tasks such as greeting visitors, answering phones, and routing calls to the correct person or taking messages.
- Complete minutes of relevant staff meetings.
- Complete all administrative tasks for Board meetings and take precise and accurate minutes.
- Maintain and facilitate servicing of all Woomera Aboriginal Corporation vehicles.
- Liaise with key stakeholders e.g., IT.
- Maintaining in and out mail registers, receive, sort, and distribute daily mail and deliveries.
- Photocopying, scanning, filing, and retrieving corporate records, documents, and reports.
- Preparing memos, letters, invoices, reports, and other business documents.
- Performing receipting, data entry and basic book-keeping tasks.
- Researching and collating information and data to prepare documents for review by the executive team.
- Using various software including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
- Maintain stock inventories and order stationery, general stock, and chemical supplies to ensure adequate stock is on hand.
- Assist in the receipt of Memberships and Confirmation of Aboriginality forms and prepare documentation for Board meetings, advise applicants of outcomes.
- Other duties as required and within scope of practice.

Essential Skills and Knowledge
- Minimum Cert IV in Business, Administration, or related field.
- Customer focused, professional appearance.
- Proven experience as an Administration Assistant or relevant.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise workloads in order to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and sound decision-making skills.
- Motivated to take on challenges with minimal direction.
- A current and satisfactory NSW Working with Children’s Check
- Be willing to obtain a National Police Check
- Unrestricted Driver’s License
Desirable Skills &Knowledge or Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Previous customer service and reception experience
