About Gulf Savannah NRM
Gulf Savannah Natural Resource Management is involved in a broad range of NRM programs such as grazing lands and farming extensions, Traditional knowledge recording, environmental education and biodiversity monitoring and conservation. The Northern Gulf region stretches from Mareeba (60km west of Cairns) to the Gulf of Carpentaria coast.
About this role
In this role, you will report to the Corporate Services Team Leader and play a vital role in supporting our project managers and officers. Your responsibilities will include providing essential administrative and financial assistance to ensure the smooth running of various projects, while contributing to improving natural resource management outcomes across the Gulf Savannah region.
Duties of this role
- Provide a high level of administrative and finance support.
- Provide assistance with funding applications.
- Contract processing of new funding agreements.
- Implementing project budgets as per application.
- Providing financial support and reports to the project managers.
- Processing of all project related income and expenses into Xero.
- Drafting and executing external contracts.
- Preparation of financial acquittals as required by funders.
- Maintaining contract register, milestone deliverables and reporting timelines.
- Provide support and Training to admnistration team when required.
- Set up of projects in Microsoft Teams.
- Support the development and management of systems and policies for the operation of the organisation.
Key attributes
• High level administration experience.
• Financial experience with Xero (preferred), budget management, understanding financial reports and chart, debtors and creditors.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to set and meet deadlines, and an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good attention to detail. Mandatory Requirements Qualifications & Experience
• Minium three years in similar role or finance position.
• Extensive experience with high level administration.
• Experience working with not-for-profit community groups, NRM groups, or similar would be advantageous.
Licences
• You must hold a manual C Class Driver's Licence and be eligible for a Blue Card.
• Successful candidates will be required to undertake first aid and cultural awareness training.
