What is Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW?
Ronald McDonald House Northern NSW is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that provides vital programs to families with seriously ill or injured children.
Having begun in 1991 with the opening of the Ronald McDonald House Newcastle, we have since grown to service the broader Northern NSW region with an additional house in Tamworth, a family retreat in Forster, and three family rooms across the Newcastle and Gosford areas. This expansion has allowed us to help thousands of sick children and their families each year.
Through our accommodation and support services, we strive to keep families together when life gets turned upside down.
About the role
We are looking for a passionate people focused Administration and Fundraising assistant to join our Gosford Family Room.
The purpose of the Family Room Administration and Fundraising Assistant is to support the smooth running of the Ronald McDonald Family Room Gosford and related volunteer and fundraising support activities, by completing a variety of administrative and fundraising tasks as directed by the Family Room Co-ordinator.
The ideal applicant will be able to;
- Provide a high level of administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the Family Room.
- Responsibly handle inquiries from staff, donors, and volunteers, including volunteer rostering when required.
- Assist Family Room Coordinator with Fundraising Event Management including volunteer coordination, managing ticket sales and registrations and assisting with the event delivery
- Actively seek content generation from donors, volunteers, family, and the community for the promotion and marketing of the Gosford Family Room.
- Conduct data entry tasks, including all fundraising relationships activity within Salesforce on a regular basis
- Work collaboratively and professionally with the team and internal and external stakeholders as directed to deliver a positive donor and volunteer experience
- Provide support in the development, distribution and follow-up of invitations, promotional material and collateral for region-specific events
About you
We looking for the perfect candidate to make it their own. The ideal applicant will:
- Be family focused
- Passionate about the mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities
- Demonstrate an ability to exercise judgement, and sensitivity in supporting and liaising with families, volunteers, supporters and providers
- Possess a high level of computer literacy skills, with intermediate to advanced experience in all Microsoft programs
- Demonstrate exemplary written communication, record keeping, organisation and time management skills. With an ability to multitask and use initiative where required
- Understand and comply with child protection policies and practices, including the undertaking of annual child safety training
- Possess (or be willing to obtain) a current state-based Working with children Check and National Criminal Check
- Qualifications or evidence of experience in administration, customer service or a related discipline are desirable
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector not required but preferred
In addition, you should;
- Have communications and administration experience in a fast paced environment
- Be able to meet the physical requirements of the role
- Be willing to travel, on occasions, within the Northern NSW region
- Hold a current State based Drivers Licence
The safety of the children and families we help is paramount. To help best protect the children and families we work with it is a requirement of this role that you;
- Are fully vaccinated against Covid-19
- Are willing to undergo a Working with Children Check and current state-based Criminal Record Check
- Undergo comprehensive Safe Guarding Children and Young People training
