What You'll Be Doing

The Administration Supervisor is to provide direct line management of the administrative staff of the Community Mental Health Centres, Child Psychiatry and Adolescent Psychiatry. Management of staff includes work allocation, staff appraisals and staff development.

The position is to coordinate administrative systems, procedures and staff to enable the clinical staff of the Community Mental Health Centres, Child Psychiatry and Adolescent Psychiatry services to achieve their objectives in a timely, reliable and efficient manner. The role is also to provide high level of administrative and secretarial support to the Community Service Manager.

The position is primarily based at Euroa Mental Health Community Centre. However travel across the Eastern Suburbs Mental Health Service is required for line management of staff, or to assist with vacancies or leave relief as directed by the Administration Manager.

Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified for this position following suitable labour market testing.

All workers and new recruits are required to receive 2 doses of a Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine to commence employment/ engagement or continue to work within a NSW Health service.

A worker and new recruit will be considered compliant if they have a medical contraindication to all available Therapeutic Goods Administration approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccines and provide medical contraindication evidence in line with the policy requirements.

In addition, all Category A workers and new recruits are required to receive one dose of the seasonal influenza vaccine annually to be considered compliant.

Category A workers and new recruits who are non-compliant with seasonal influenza vaccination or have a medical contraindication to influenza or COVID-19 vaccinations must comply with all other infection control risk reduction strategies as directed while working in a Category A position.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated experience in providing a high calibre of administrative support to senior staff and management, with exceptional organisational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a supervisory capacity, with experience in managing work flow in area of responsibility, delegating tasks to less senior administrative staff, and appropriate monitoring of and coaching for performance.
  • Ability to work and act independently and proactively to meet the responsibilities of the role, including timeliness, attention to detail and problem solving.
  • Ability to develop business processes that support administrative functions with ability to identify, analyse, suggest solutions and resolve problems about relevant business support matters.
  • High level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and customer service approach.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing a quality service and quality improvement initiatives in workplace practices and procedures.
  • Support in business processes via the use of software and systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office packages (Word, Outlook, Excel), HealthRoster, Recruitment and Onboarding, Oracle, Winc, Finsbury, eMR, iPM, Stafflink, TRIM.
  • Current unrestricted NSW Class 'C' drivers licence (P2 licence accepted).
