About Cairns School of Distance Education:

Cairns School of Distance Education (CSDE) is a Queensland state School offering educational services to home-based and school-based learners from Prep to Year 12.

The school's culture is characterised by the provision of individualised curriculum and high levels of educational support, achieved through close professional working relationships with students and home tutors.

About the Role:

As the Administrative Officer in Student Services, you will have responsibility for the following:

  • Perform a variety of day to day administrative and support services that are routine in nature and directed by the Principal or Business Manager
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders (eg. school and department staff, parents, students and community members); provide information and advice in line with school policies and/or Principal directives; and demonstrate empathy, emotional understanding and support.
  • Sort, distribute and track correspondence and provide a follow up service where necessary
  • Following departmental and school policies, guidelines and ensuring legislative and procedural requirements are met.

About You:

  • The ideal applicant will possess strong time management and organisational skills, accuracy in data management and the ability to problem-solve aligned to policies and procedures. The applicant should be comfortable multi-tasking and be able to self-manage priorities.
  • Highly desirable skill and experience include (but will not limit): OneSchool and corresponding Finance component.
