About the Role
As the Administrative Officer you will work as a member of a team of officers processing payroll related matters for employees of the department.
The Administrative Officer, Payroll Services reports to the Senior Payroll Services Officer.
Positions are located in our Brisbane City office (located in Mary Street) and Mt Gravatt office (located just across from Garden City shopping centre) and are available for immediate start for a period of three (3) months, unless otherwise determined.
Flexible work arrangements will be available after a period of training.
Your Responsibilities
After training your responsibilities will include:
- Providing data entry, general computing, administrative services using the department's payroll system and the Microsoft office.
- Responding to enquiries from clients
- Sorting, distributing and tracking payroll correspondence.
- Adhering to departmental human resource management and payroll administration policies, procedures to ensure compliance with government legislation, directives and departmental policies.
About You
- While training will be provided in the use the department's payroll system, the ideal applicant will be someone who has the following capabilities:
- Effectively utilises computing skills with an emphasis on efficiency and accuracy with attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively as a member of a team and responds to direction and feedback to meet changes in client needs and expectations.
- Understand the urgency of meeting strict deadlines.
- Experience using the Microsoft Office.
- Written and oral communication skills with a focus on customer service.
