AddressAs an Animal Transport Officer, you will ensure the safe transfer of animals between their homes, shelters, boarding kennels and other facilities and freight ports at airports. You may at times be responsible for the overnight care of an animal and for providing a comfort stop at the airport. You will also be responsible for the collection of soiled crates from the airport, cleaning these crates to a sterile state and for relodgement at the airport when required.

About the Role
This role is the core centre of our business and as such is instrumental in the collection and transportation of animals.
- Transfer of animals between their homes, shelters, boarding kennels and other facilities and freight ports at airports
- Provide exceptional care to animals while in transit and in the care of Adstaff Pet Travel including appropriate temperature, handling and minimised travel times
- Manage own time effectively, safely and in line with Animal Welfare legislation
- Provide comfort stops (toileting) for pets in transit at the airport, where an extended stop is required
- Provide occasional overnight accommodation for pets in instances of flight cancellations, or delayed flight arrival
- Responsible for collection, cleaning and relodgement of airline approved pet transport crates
This position is a casual position, and would be on a sub-contracting arrangement, therefore has the flexibility to work around an existing position and commitments to provide supplementary income.
About You
- Certificate II in Animal Studies/Handling/Management (we will assist the right applicant to gain this qualification)
- A current Driver’s Licence and availability of own suitable vehicle
- Certification in animal first aid highly desirable (we are willing to assist the right applicant to gain this qualification)
- Previous experience handling animals would be expected, would be suited to a fellow breeder or a person undertaking similar work for another transport business
- Ability to work autonomously and use initiative with good problem solving skills
- Able to work as a team player
- Strong communication skills, with exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to perform physical duties including manual handling (minimum weight of 20kgs)
