This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 2, 2024 

Lynwood Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a highly organised and committed individual to join their highly dedicated and supportive  team.

In this role you will provide advice and support to the Executive Team in the human resource aspects of the school’s operations.

In collaboration with the Manager Corporate Services and Deputy Principal, you will be responsible for coordinating recruitment, selection, and appointment processes, as well as managing relief coordination for both teaching staff and allied professionals.

You will also assist in the development, implementation and coordination of staff induction and onboarding processes, including updating and monitoring relevant registrations and qualifications.

Payroll verification and certification, including data entry for casual pay, is also integral to this role.

The successful applicant will ideally have experience in the use of Recruitment Advertising Management System (RAMS), Human Resource Management Information Systems (HRMIS) and School Information Systems (SIS).

The successful applicant should possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to plan and prioritise tasks and work well under pressure.

Lynwood SHS is an Independent Public School that caters for students in Years 7 to 12. We have a reputation for our outstanding approach to the care of every student, together with a commitment to their academic success across all our programs in the school. We have around 49% Language Background other than English (LBOTE) and over 60 different nationalities represented at the school.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 

To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):

  • Skills and knowledge of contemporary human resource management practices, including experience in the development, implementation and monitoring of business operations and systems.
  • Well developed written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise with individuals at all levels and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Well developed computer skills, including ability to create, operate, extract reports and manipulate databases, spreadsheets and systems.
  • Initiative and good organisational skills, including the ability to identify priorities and meet deadlines.

Eligibility and training requirements

Employees will be required to:

  • provide evidence of eligibility to work in Australia for the term of the vacancy;
  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit prior to commencement of employment;
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
